Original reduction linocut inspired by the beauty of spring

This limited edition reduction linocut celebrates the delicate beauty of almond blossom and the first signs of renewal that arrive with spring. Inspired by the plants and seasonal changes observed in my own garden, this botanical print captures the quiet transition from winter dormancy to new growth.

The flowering stage is a moment of possibility — before fruit develops, before harvest, when the plant is simply expressing its beauty through colour, form, and structure. Through this artwork, the almond flower becomes a subject of contemplation, inviting closer attention to the small details and rhythms found in nature.

Created using the traditional reduction linocut technique, the image is built layer by layer from a single carved block. Each colour is printed separately before more of the lino surface is removed, making the process gradual and irreversible. This method creates rich colour relationships, tactile textures, and subtle variations that are unique to handmade printmaking.

Each impression is individually hand printed on my own printing press, signed, and numbered as part of a limited edition of 24. Because every print is created by hand, small differences in colour and texture make each artwork slightly unique.
